When Cody first reached out to us, he told us about his plan to propose to his love, Jenny, in the middle of their vacation around Europe. The chosen location was Moon Beach, Melos, Greece. But we later discovered they never got the plane to get there, and he had to figure the whole thing out using a lot of improvisation. ‘Cause, you know, sh*t happens but you gotta stay focused! And so he did, and she SAID YES! He then wanted to have their engagement pictures taken right after… and a romantic cloudy morning is all you need for the perfect sunrise engagement couple session in Florence, right?
As wedding and elopement photographers, we would do anything we can in order to capture your love story at the best… and that eventually includes waking up at 4 AM in Florence, walk the empty streets of the still-sleeping-city looking desperately for a coffe shop to have breakfast at (without finding any, ’cause apparently people in Tuscany don’t work in the morning ahahah) and finally grab a cornetto and cappuccino to go and eat it while walking on our way to Ponte Vecchio, without even being late. All of this because we really needed Florence to be empty and the light to be perfect for the most romantic engagement session with Cody and Jenny, and the only time that could happen was sunrise.
The weather wasn’t really the best, it had rained all night long and the sky was full of clouds, but that moody feels surrounded our two lovebirds creating such an intimate atmosphere. Also, the gentle breeze made them hold and hug closer and closer. We couldn’t have hoped for a better duo to shoot this sunrise engagement couple session in Florence: Jenny and Cody were two sun rays in such a cloudy day, with their infinite sweetness and their loudest laughs. They explored hand in hand the narrow alleys of Florence, danced in front of the Uffizi Gallery, kissed along the Arno river and run like crazy in Santa Maria Novella. We really had a wonderful time together, chatting about their two GORGEOUS dogs (really, never seen more beautiful pups in life). We also found in Jenny an addicted-to-peanut-butter-companion yay! And in the end, we finally had some sun saying hi from behind the tall tower of the Dome.
We left Florence with so much beauty in our eyes, and a lot of memories in our pockets we’re so proud to share here today. Once more we’re grateful for being able to tell such an emotional story, and we really wish Jenny and Cody all the best for their future life together! Cheers guys!
